Meet Lily Nova.
Discovered at the Adelaide Fashion Festival (she was attending with her mother, not modelling), Australian-born model Lily Nova has done the seemingly impossible: walked for the season’s biggest name in her first ever international fashion week show.
Nova was cast in Alessandro Michele’s Gucci autumn/winter ‘16/’17 show by influential casting directors Barbara Nicoli and Leila Ananna. It’s a major deal for any model, let alone a model who has never done a season before. “…such a magical show and an incredible debut to my first season!” Nova posted on her Instagram (her 954 followers are sure to balloon).
Nova was a recurring presence on the runway at Australian fashion week last year, walking for Tome, Ginger & Smart, Maticevski, Alice McCall, Bianca Spender, Akira and Romance Was Born, and has since modelled in London, Paris and Venice and signed with IMG.
With high school completed (she finished at the end of 2015) and Gucci on her résumé, the model with Pre-Raphaelite looks is set to be a star. You may as well call her supernova.
