5 trends to replicate from NYFW

It’s one of the hottest fashion weeks in the world, and New York has certainly turned it up this September.

We take a look at some of the best trends spotted both on and off the runway this NYFW.

Colour blocking

It’s back and bigger than ever. This year, we’re not just seeing hints of bold colours… it’s head-to-toe, it’s mixed-and-matched, and it is fabulous.

We’ve seen a number of Adelaide Fashion Festival presented by Mercedes-Benz Adelaide & Unley designers repping the colour block this season. Take a look at the likes of Acler, Ryderwear and LEXI just for starters.

Pink & red

Our faves at Georgy Collection had us hot on a great pink and red combo with their famous Chantelle dress. And now, we’re seeing it everywhere!

The power suit

We’ve seen these babies making a comeback for quite some time now, and it’s easy to see why. From day to night, the power suit is the perfect all-rounder that suits anybody and everybody.

On the streets of NYC, we saw some unique patterns and silhouettes on some of the fashion industry’s biggest names, and we can’t wait to see them on you.

Clashing patterns

Stripes, plaid, polka dots and checks are fantastic in their own right. But have you tried putting them together? It certainly makes a statement!

Binny and Harvey the Label (who recently showcased at NYFW) are just two of the South Australian brands doing this and doing it well.

Belt it

Cinch in the waist and layer it up (a-la Katya Komarova) to complete just about any look!
