AFF18: Four weeks and four reasons to go

There is exactly one month to go until Adelaide Fashion Festival presented by Mercedes Benz Adelaide & Unley and tickets are selling fast.

We know you’d hate to miss out, but if you’re still not sure why you should check out these awesome runways in October, we’ve got four reasons to scoop up your tickets to AFF18!

SLOW Saturday

1. AFF18 is more than just fashion

We’re about experience. Yes, we have the most beautiful designs from some of  South Australia’s leading fashion houses on our runways, but we want to make sure there’s plenty of opportunity to indulge in more than just sumptuous style.

Why not tantalise your tastebuds on SLOW Saturday, where you’ll not only be treated to a three-part runway, but also an incredible lunch by Tasting Australia festival Director Simon Bryant. Or you could dine on 200m tables at the Mercedez-Benz Unley Long Lunch on iconic King William Road, where your ticket supports good fashion and a good cause, with part proceeds supporting Parkinson’s South Australia.

We’re also about learning, which you’re bound to get in spades from Julia Ritorto and Kathryn Forth of Acler, when they present their Masterclass on what inspires and drives their creation of edgy and high-quality garments that evoke wonder in women worldwide.

Or simply step out in your best high street fashion for our super street parties: Party on Vardon in Celebration of Vogue Festival, and Stay and Play in Glenelg.

TAFE Runway AFF17

2. We’re about building the next generation of fashion design

AFF18 celebrates fashion at all stages of development – from Paolo Sebastian’s internationally acclaimed styles, right through to the new breed of talent looking to make their mark.

That’s why we join forces with TAFE SA to shine a light on the TAFE SA Showcase presented by Spendless Shoes.

Here, new energy and ideas come to life with second and third year design students presenting their spin on ‘athleisure’ – the world’s fastest growing fashion sector. You’ll also be treated to the finalists for the Premier’s Design Awards, so you’re guaranteed to see award winning products on the runway.

3. AFF18 supports established local designers

Whether it’s a masterclass with Alyce Tran and the team from Acler, or seeing the best South Australian fashion on one of two SA Designer Showcase runways presented by Spendless Shoes, AFF18 is committed to supporting established and emerging designers in South Australia.

If you’re looking to get behind those who are making South Australia’s fashion the talk of the town (and beyond) there’s a seat at the runway waiting for you.

AFF Hub

4. Oh, it’s fun!

The Hub in the heart of AFF18 will light up your evenings with heaps of engaging and exciting colours, sounds and spectacles.

Whether you’re looking for a drink with friends or simply want to chill out between shows, this is the place to see and be seen alongside the who’s who of Adelaide and Australian fashion.

Stay tuned to find out what’s happening in the Hub!
