Tridente makes its runway debut

Clad in her signature rainbow of colour, Adelaide designer Cristina Tridente launched her eponymous new project, Tridente, last night as part of AFF.

The first collection, aptly named ‘Clouds’, featured on the runway at Thursday night’s Couture Culture runway presented by Burnside Village at the Torrens Parade Grounds alongside Cristina’s original label, Couture+Love+Madness.

Cristina drew inspiration for the collection during her time studying at London design school Central Saint Martins, which boasts a score of famous alumni such as Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen.

The architecture-inspired dresses in the first collection featured light-as-air pastels and elaborate draping, taking the organic shapes of clouds in voluminous proportions.

The twelve dresses comprising the collection were a whimsical nod to Cristina’s colourful character attesting to the versatility of the local designer, with a key piece featured in the AFF18 campaign imagery.
